Opening Reception: May 5, 7-9pm

C’Mon Everybody

325 Franklin Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11238

Organized by Jazmine Catasus, this group show features hand-pulled prints by an all-female crew of New York artists, and is one of the first shows in the new gallery space at C’mon Everybody, a bar, gallery, and live art space in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. All art will be for sale, and the folks at the space do not take commission, so 100% of sales will go directly to the artists.

I’ll be showing new work: the first piece from a series of lithographs, entitled “A Bar Crawl of DFW.” The full series is still in process, but prints of Chapter One are for sale by direct request.

The gallery can be viewed any time C’mon Everybody is open: Sunday-Thursday: 6pm to 2pm, and Friday-Saturday: 6pm to 4am.

Brooklyn, NY 11222

I like to give the people what they want, and when the people—or the PTA—says they want more of my art to sell at auction, who am I to say no? So once again, I’ve donated a work in support of PS 84 José De Diego as the PTA hosts their 5th annual Gala & Silent Auction!

With its 2016 theme of “Carnival,” this unique event hosts some of Brooklyn’s favorite artists in an art oriented silent auction with over 30 creators represented. The silent auction features contemporary art, photography, handmade jewelry, art to wear, and more. There will be a live DJ spinning tracks and pop-up food carts.

If you can’t make it to the Gala, the online auction runs March 1-17. All proceeds benefit the enrichment programs at PS 84 José De Diego. For more information about the school, visit www.ps84k.org.

Tickets and auction information are available at Brown Paper Tickets.

My first international exhibition!

“Leaves on Water” was selected by a jury of artists to be included in the 2015 Pacific Rim International Print Exhibition. The exhibition is presented by the School of Fine Art at The University of Canterbury—Christchurch in partnership with Chambers 241 Gallery. Artists from nations of the Pacific Rim and Basin have contributed to this exhibition to make it one of the most prestigious print exhibitions of its type in the world. The focus is to promote the work of printmaking artists internationally, to strengthen educational and academic scholarly engagement with fine art printmaking, to provide a platform for the international educational art community and to reveal global cultural diversity and our inter-connections.

You can see the full exhibition catalog here.

In an exchange organized by The Sketchbook Project, 500 artists from around the world signed up to make an edition of 12 prints inspired by the theme "Just a Second." Each participating artist then received prints from 10 different artists in exchange. Of the two remaining prints in each artist's edition, one will be on display for this exhibition, and the final print will become a permanent part of The Brooklyn Art Library's archive.

For this print exchange, I made a mini-edition of a 7in x 5in section of “Leaves on Water.”
